Linux Help

LINUX 2015
Every time I talk to someone about Linux they don't really know much about it. They are always comparing it to Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 and now 10. Well the honest answer is you really can not compare it to any of the Windows Operating Systems. It is just another operating system with different advantages that other operating systems don't have. It seems to be less prone to getting a virus than the windows operating systems. This is mainly due to the fact that they keep changing and updating the various distributions . That sometime can be a good thing, but the problem is that you generally can't update or upgrade to the newest version. You will mainly have to maybe make a multiboot system , so you can boot off your preferred version. I would hope that at some point in time they would build a way to be able to update to the newer version.
So I generally look around the Internet for interesting information on various Linux Distributions. Maybe I can find something involving Linux that may help someone learn more about Linux and learn to appreciate it. Here is a link to a tutorial that will provide a good amount of information https://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/784060-the-complete-beginners-guide-to-linux . Here is another excellent website with information on various topics involving Linux http://www.linuxtoday.com/ .
This may be a helpful link for those involved in ham radio http://www.linuxjournal.com/ham . All you need to do is search the internet and you can find all kinds of free tutorials, videos and other excellent help for linux. Here is one last website that may help http://www.techradar.com/us/news/software/operating-systems/beginner-s-guide-to-linux-where-to-start-1066778 .
